Possible way of fixing a corrupt file

Earlier this week I was dealing with file difficulty. I had a corrupt .psd file, and every time I dragged the file to Photoshop I kept getting that infamous error message. So I asked my boy Raul what he thought I should do, and with a little teamwork we figured something out that I think would be useful for anyone who has or who ever will have a corrupt file that wont open. It's pretty simple, but a huge lifesaver:

(in the case of a ".psd" extension")
1. change the ".psd" extension to ".pdf"
2. drag the file with the ."pdf" extension into Photoshop
3. smile, and thank God for recovering your Photoshop file and the layers that go with it
